Although we haven't tested this setup yet, our experience with the similar Volkswagen ID.4 was underwhelming. The Q4 e-tron 50 and Q4 e-tron Sportback 50 models, featuring all-wheel drive with electric motors on both axles, deliver 295 horsepower, while the new 55 models offer an enhanced 335 horsepower. On the road, the Q4 e-tron provides a smooth and comfortable ride with a tight turning radius for decent maneuverability. However, it lacks excitement, feeling heavy in corners with somewhat artificial steering feedback.

2024 Audi Q4 e-tron: Battery Life, Charging, and Range

The 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron features a 77.0-kWh battery pack, delivering up to 265 miles per charge with the single-motor 40 powertrain. The all-wheel drive 50 powertrain offers a range of 236 miles for the SquarebackThe powertrain appears more lethargic at highway speeds and 242 miles for the Sportback. The newly introduced Q4 e-tron 55 boasts more efficient electric motors and an estimated 258 miles per charge. In our tests, the Q4 e-tron 50 achieved 190 miles on a 75-mph highway route. All models support 150-kW fast charging, reaching 5 to 80 percent in 36 minutes, although slower than the Genesis GV60's 18 minutes. Our Q4 e-tron 50 test model charged from 10 to 90 percent in 44 minutes, averaging a DC Fast-Charge rate of 87 kW.

In performance tests, the 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron 50 reaches 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds, notably faster than the 7.9-second estimate for the Q4 e-tron 40, yet still behind the gasoline-powered Audi Q5 SUV. The Q4 e-tron 50's powertrain feels robust for city driving, though its initial acceleration is less intense than competitors like the Tesla Model Y and Volvo XC40. At highway speeds, the powertrain appears more lethargic, especially during passing maneuvers. The new 2024 Q4 e-tron 55 models are anticipated to deliver better acceleration, and we'll update our findings after testing the new powertrain.
